Christmas in July!

Posted Jul 14 2019, 9:36 pm

I love everything about Christmas! I’m one of those people who wants to listen to Christmas music right at the beginning of November. But maybe even July is a little early for me–just maybe!

So I’m excited to host this Christmas in July giveaway. One winner will receive the 3 book ATLANTA JUSTICE Series in paperback form.

If you could celebrate any holiday at a different time of the year, what holiday would you move and why?

I actually wouldn’t move them! I’m a bit of a traditionalist. But I’d love to get rid of Valentine’s Day (and that other one…Sweetest or something like that?)

  2. Janet says:

I would move Christmas to the summer. Three of our four family birthdays are in November/December and it is a busy time for work, so I feel like I never have time to truly enjoy it these days and really reflect on its importance. Plus, historians don’t think Jesus was born in December anyways! 😉

  3. Ellen says:

    Separation between Thanksgiving and Christmas
Beginning the new year with one of them. To celebrate being with family and friends. Then one would have the time to really enjoy.

  4. Joy says:

I would probably move the fourth of July to fall, because my birthday is the day before and I would love cooler weather.

  5. Linda says:

I am too old to change things now?

  6. Perrianne Askew says:

I would move the 4th of July to early fall because July is miserably hot.

  7. Linda says:

I am too old to change anything.?

  8. Lisa Harness says:

Thanksgiving to earlier in the year. Celebrate it more.

  9. If I could choose to celebrate a holiday on a different month I think it would have to be Thanksgiving but maybe do it in the summer time and not the winter

  10. Myra says:

If I had to move a holiday, for me it would be New Tear’s. I’m not a partier, and actually, it’s just another day for me, except for tax season looming ahead. But seriously, it’s the third holiday right together, and it isn’t anything special to me like what Christmas and Thanksgiving stands for. So I would move New Years further past Christmas. ???

  11. patricia rose says:

I think I would leave then alone. my birthday is in Nov. and sometimes on Thanksgiving. so I would leave it .

  12. Cheryl Gohl says:

I would make Christmas a week long. I love Christmas and celebrate it as thankfulness of our Savior’s presence in my life.

  13. Debbie Lester says:

I would move Thanksgiving to the third Thursday of September. Because it’s just too close to Christmas and having it in September it would still be getting a bit cooler and maybe the leaves would be turning just a bit. It would give enough separation so I could spend more relaxed time preparing for thanksgiving and then I would have all of November to devote on getting ready for December and Christmas.

  14. MJSH says:

Valentine’s Day would be in spring (would you consider this a holiday?). A day devoted to love seems more appropriate for springtime.

  15. Amanda Williams says:

I would move Thanksgiving to September, do away with Halloween, and move Christmas to November. With my anniversary being new years eve, my daughter’s and my own birthdays being in January, Valentine’s day in February my husband always complains that he spends 3months buying gifts and gets burned out. I wind up feeling guilty and not enjoying the holidays…

  16. Chanel Monroe says:

I would move Easter to May because March/April have had more winter than spring vibes in recent years.

  17. Connie Porter Saunders says:

I’m not sure that I’d move any of them because I believe in tradition but I might try to have another day in the spring that warrants a day off☺️ when I was in the workforce there weren’t any legal holidays between MLK day and Memorial Day. Selfish? Perhaps, but it made for a long 4 1/2 months between holidays!

  18. Andrea Byers says:

I pretty much like them where they are, though weather wise, maybe move Thanksgiving earlier, Sept/Oct and maybe Christmas to November. That would generally leave many places with nicer weather for travel.

  19. Jennifer D Tipton says:

I like Christmas allot and I’d keep it where it’s because otherwise it would be dull during that time. Though I’d like to tone down the commercial side of Christmas. My son’s birthday is Christmas Eve and we have always made sure to keep it separated and special.
Thanksgiving is one busy time for us because we have allot of birthdays for our families so I’d like to move it to October then we can have more of a leading up to Christmas .

    • Jennifer Tipton says:

I meant more of a break leading up to Christmas but then we’d have to get rid of Halloween which is one holiday I don’t like.

  20. Cheryl g says:

I would move memorial day to June or August. It’s like the start of lake season, but it isn’t warm enough for me in Ohio.

  21. alisha woods says:

Don’t think I would move any of them. I would maybe move birthday since it’s a December birthday

  22. Patty says:

Change a holiday? Not a chance.

  23. Stella says:

I would move Thanksgiving to September or October so there would be a longer stretch between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  24. Shelia Hall says:

put 4th of july later in the year so not so hot

  25. Lela says:

I would change Thanksgiving to be earlier so it’s spread out a little from Christmas more. So you can enjoy bigger meals a couple months apart instead of back to back.

  26. Erin L says:

I would actually move Christmas. Having worked in insurance and financial industries, December is THE busiest time of year, getting everything ready for January, and you just can’t enjoy Christmas. Plus, if you get a foot of snow and can’t see family, it’s sad. I would move it to late spring/early summer so that weather would be less impactful and the fiscal year would be over!

  27. Margaret Alexander says:

    I would celebrate Halloween again.

  28. Sabrina Templin says:

Idk I like them where they are at in the year. 🙂

  29. Sonnetta Jones says:

We need a Federal Holiday between New Year’s Day and Memorial Day that will allow businesses to close. I would want Easter to be the same time every year and a holiday on the level of Christmas.

  30. Linda S StringerF says:

I’d move Christmas out of December. My Dad died on December 22, 2007 and my Mom died on December 4, 2018. Makes celebrating Christmas very hard.

  31. Gina Johnson says:

I would move Christmas to the actual season when Jesus was born.

  32. Robin says:

I like to listen to and watch Hallmark movies in July.

  33. Amanda Tero says:

I have been known to let (or encourage 😉 ) my piano students to play a Christmas song at Spring recital. 😉

I love Thanksgiving and would celebrate it all year round!

  34. Lori Parrish says:

I’d move Christmas because we dont really know when Jesus was born. I’m like several others they can rid of Valentine’s day.
I want to thank you for the chance to win

  35. Lori Parrish says:

I meant to say Christmas should be moved to JJuly because we dont really know when Jesus was born.

  36. Elizabeth Litton says:

I would take out Halloween and move Thanksgiving Day into October, because I think it gets forgotten and overlooked by being so close to Christmas.
